Luminous silence

In this performance of floating fabric, black is the starting point. Nothing is quite visible, everything has to be guessed at. It is a new way of perceiving. The body fumbles and slowly, painfully it tries to rise. Suspended between falling and rising, it hesitates, withdraws, resists the call of the void. Lamps at the front, attached to the fabric and body, light up one by one. They don’t reveal anything: they sketch, fragment, skim. The light obscures bearing points, transforming the space into a shifting, unstable landscape filled with shadows. The body dialogues with luminous silence as it tames it, flees from it and becomes a source of light itself.
