The Grand-Place to Be

Maison du Roi

  • Expo

For the 20th anniversary of the inclusion of the Grand-Place in Brussels on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Brussels City Museum and the Cellule Patrimoine Historique (Heritage Department) are offering a unique exhibition in this iconic place of Brussels architecture. This exhibition could not be held anywhere other than the GrandPlace, at the Maison du Roi. As a matter of fact, this prestigious building has been housing the Museum of the City of Brussels since 1887 and overseeing the conservation, enrichment and promotion of Brussels heritage as well as spreading knowledge throughout the public.

Organised around the monumental statue of Saint Michael, a weather vane from the 15th century, the exhibition covers numerous themes regarding its history, architecture, safeguarding and presentation.
